‘Payment Services’ Directorate is tasked with providing both domestic and international payment and money transfer solutions to both individual and Corporate customers.
The process can be done either manually or via an online application systems namely, EFT PostaPay, PostaPesa and IFS which have been developed using latest up-to-date technological standards and in liaison with Postal Technology Centre of Universal Postal Union (UPU).
Payments are done through the above systems for collections and disbursements at the various Postal outlets nationwide. These payments can be done for both individual and corporate level which can be Governmental and non-Governmental.

PostaPay money transfer service
This is an instant money transfer system / product that facilitates real time, both for individual and institutional money transfer. Individual to individual / institution and vice versa collection and disbursement of funds operate on this platform.
• Agency services
The Directorate operates Agency Services on behalf of other institutions. These are cash payments in form of Disbursements and Collections of on behalf other organizations’ funds.
For example, Posta Kenya collects on behalf of;

2.  Nairobi Water & Sewerage Company Ltd
3.  Mombasa Water
4.  Kakamega -Busia Water
5.  Nakuru Water
6.  Malindi Water
7. Taveta-Voi water
8. Embu water
9. Nzoia Water
10. Kwale water
11. kericho water
12. Kitui
13. Gusii water
14. Telkom Kenya Ltd etc.
Disbursement of SACCOs and MicroFinance Institutions (MFIs)’s’ loans and dividends, is also part of the Directorate’s business. These contracts are based on the principle of where both parties signing a Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to enable institutions to pay their customers and vice versa. Agency services ride on EFT PostaPay platform.
