CS MOICT stated in his opening remarks that, “I am proud to state that Posta Kenya has identified the importance of technology by developing new ground-breaking products that complement its core mandate of delivering financial, communication and distribution solutions to its customers.”

Payment Services Directorate is tasked with providing both domestic and international payment and money transfer solutions to both individual and Corporate customers.
The process can be done either manually or via an online application systems namely, EFT PostaPay, PostaPesa and IFS which have been developed using latest up-to-date technological standards and in liaison with Postal Technology Centre of Universal Postal Union (UPU).
Payments are done through the above systems for collections and disbursements at the various Postal outlets nationwide. These payments can be done for both individual and corporate level which can be Governmental and non-Governmental.
Postal Corporation of Kenya & Barclays Bank Of Kenya launched an Agency Banking partnership on 2nd March 2016. The two organizations continue to exhibit cordial business relations over the years. The Former PMG & CEO Dr.Enock Kinara together with BBK CEO Mr.Jeremy Awori both carried successful Barclays bank transactions at Ngara road post office.

Electronic Payment Services has seen Postal services grow in great strides all over the world and Posta Kenya has not been left behind.

It is with great honor and privilege that I convey my New Year message to all Pasta Kenya staff as we embrace yet another great year, 2016, after bidding farewell to the successes and challenges of the 2015 calendar.
I am also deeply humbled that this is my maiden New Year message since my re appointment for the second term as the Postmaster General of the Postal Corporation of Kenya, in August 2015. I therefore wish to take this opportunity to express delight in serving the Corporation and being part of the dedicated PCK team for over three decades now. I proudly look at the history and growth of the organization since 1st July 1999 with excitement and satisfaction in view of the milestones achieved so far. It is no mean fete registering this phenomenal growth even in the face of challenges that at various points wore us down. Once again, I say thank you for the collective efforts.
Indeed, 2015 witnessed a myriad of challenges but I am happy that we have kept our eyes and spirits trained on the objective and dream that unite ite us towards the growth and success of Pasta Kenya and indeed I salute you for the stellar performance in 2015. However, I acknowledge that there is an onerous task ahead of us in order to fulfill the dream as enshrined in our Corporate Strategic Plan (2013/16). We must remind ourselves of the very core values that we promised to uphold; the values that are enshrined in our charter; the values that shall be the gateway to unlocking our full potential.
Kenya’s leading online mall, Jumia has partnered with Postal Corporation Of Kenya to allow its customers to pick up items they purchase on the website from Post offices across the country.
Postmaster General/Chief Executive OfficerDr.EnockKinara said, “We are happy to be part of this revolutionary shopping experience and assure all customers who come to pick Jumia shipments a quality service, they can also access other services that Posta Kenya offers.”.
Customers can select the option to pick-up products from a Post office closest to them during the checkout process, the product(s) will be dispatched to the selected office and customers can payfor the items via cash through Postapay orMpesa during pick up.
Parinaz Firozi Managing Director, Jumia Kenya said, “We are delighted that our customers can now pick up items they order on Jumia from selected Post offices across the country, this is a new direction in providing a stress-free, safe and convenient shopping experience.”
Jumia hopes to tap more customers through the partnership with Postal Corporation of Kenya by bringing the services closer to them through it vast network of Post offices countrywide. The move will also boost E-commerce uptake in the country which is growing by double digits. “
The launch of the PostaPesa e-payment solution on Tuesday July 30th 2013, by (ICT) Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i reinstates the importance of Postal Corporations of Kenya’s (PCK) operations.
In two years this e-payment solution continues to thrive on PCK’s robust network. The solution enables financial Institutions to share Posta Kenya’s expansive network spanning over 600 offices countrywide, in offering agency Services to various Stakeholders. Postal Corporation of Kenya will issue smart cards that simplify utility payments, whilst supporting mobile money transfer platforms. So far 4 banks have been fully integrated for Balance Inquiries,Cash deposit and withdrawal transactions. These are namely Kenya commercial Bank (KCB), Cooperative Bank, Credit Bank and The National Bank of Kenya.
There are 18 post offices in Nairobi that are fully transacting on the switch platform. This initial phase, serves to observe the performance of the system and correct any anomalies in good time given the proximity. A successful template from this preliminary exercise has seen a further additional 42 spread regionally providing services on the e-payment platform bringing the total number of Post offices to 60.
The main channel for carrying out customer transactions for Agency Banking will be the POS terminal which are EMV compliant in compliance with Kenya Association Banker’s regulation for the purpose of safeguarding customer cardholder information and reducing fraud on customer ATM cards.
External and internal customers are gradually learning on the convenience and efficiency of using PostaPesa.
NBK clients will be able to be served from 470 post offices customers will be able to make cash deposits and withdrawals of up to Sh1 million, obtain mini statements, make balance inquiries, pay school fees and utility bills among other services.
During the launch on the 3rd of November 2014 this Tuesday the PMG Dr.Enock Kinara in his speech outlining Posta’s role said,”The capacity of Posta to provide Financial Services is not in doubt. The provision of Payment Services to the under banked and un-banked is very deliberately included in our Corporate Strategic Plan, 2013-2016.”
Dr.Kinara spearheading the Posta Pesa e-payment system explains, “The partnership being launched today will facilitate National Bank customers to make cash deposits, cash withdrawals and account balance inquiries among other services at Posta outlets, on the Post Pesa platform .All of the Postal Corporation of Kenya’s 470 outlets in the country will be agents, NBK bank braches.
“We will take our relationship with Postal a notch higher to offer financial services to most Kenyans through the partnership we have signed today” Mr Munir Ahmed National Bank chief executive said.
“Electronic payment has seen Postal services grow in great strides all over the world and Posta Kenya has not been left behind,” Postmaster-general Dr.Enock Kinara said in regards to Postal Corporation of Kenya’s successful adoption of technology in its operations.
Postal Corporation of Kenya already launched its agency partnership with Kenya Commercial Bank.
