Mr.Daniel Kagwe appointed as the Ag. Postmaster General

 

Mr.Dan Kagwe_Ag_PMGMr. Daniel Kagwe has been appointed as the Postal Corporation of Kenya Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer on acting capacity effective from Thursday 21st July 2016. Mr. Kagwe was appointed by the Board of Directors effectively re-placing Dr. Enock Kinara who had served the Corporation at the helm for four (4) years from May 17th 2012 to 21st July 2016.

Mr. Kagwe joined the Corporation in March of 2013 serving as the Deputy Director and Acting Director/ Strategy & Business Develop-ment. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and other accredited diplomas and certificates from vari-ous professional bodies, among them Marketing Society of Kenya and Kenya Institute of Manage-ment. He has worked extensively in the private sector (Financial, Couri-er and Logistics Industry) in Kenya and the wider East African Region for over 30 years, specifically hold-ing senior level capacities at Fedex, Henkel Kenya and Diners Club International among others. On behalf of Posta Kenya fraternity, the Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Department con-gratulates Mr. Kagwe on his new appointment and wishes him well as he takes up his new portfolio.

MPOST A new innovation on Mail delivery

The Postmaster General and CEO Dr.Enock Kinara today launched MPOST  a new mail delivery innovation from PCK.   The Cabinet Secretary Ministry Of ICT Joe Mucheru graced the occasion  acknowledging the tremendous effort that PCK is  making with its entry into emerging digital markets.

The CS during his speech noted, “Postal Corporation Of Kenya  is on the right path in placing priorities in digital innovations as it adjusts to changing markets.”

Dr.Kinara in his speech, assured youth involved in Startup tech companies that they have a listening partner in PCK. The PMG in his remarks mentioned, “Posta Kenya continues to empower startups  using disruptive technologies as in the case study with Taz Technologies.”  The company uses Postal Infrastructure to develop together with PCK innovations team this mail delivery solution dubbed #Postamkononi

CS MOICT stated in his opening remarks that, “I am proud to state that Posta Kenya has identified the importance of technology by developing new ground-breaking products that complement its core mandate of delivering financial, communication and distribution solutions to its customers.”

You can send any mail item to over 600 Post offices in Kenya and it  will get there quickly, safely and secure. The item is delivered to the respective Post Box within 24hrs in the same town and within two days to the rest of the country.

Payment Services

Payment Services Directorate is tasked with providing both domestic and international payment and money transfer solutions to both individual and Corporate customers.
The process can be done either manually or via an online application systems namely, EFT PostaPay, PostaPesa and IFS which have been developed using latest up-to-date technological standards and in liaison with Postal Technology Centre of Universal Postal Union (UPU).
Payments are done through the above systems for collections and disbursements at the various Postal outlets nationwide. These payments can be done for both individual and corporate level which can be Governmental and non-Governmental.

Former PMG Dr.Kinara & BBK CEO transacting at Ngara Road Post Office

Postal Corporation of Kenya & Barclays Bank Of Kenya launched an Agency Banking partnership on 2nd March 2016.   The two organizations continue to exhibit cordial business relations over the years. The former PMG & CEO Dr.Enock Kinara  during his speech statedm “The elaborate staff credit facilities that we have mutually been engaged in since the year 2009 is one of the great fetes that has truly empowered our human resource and cemented the long fruitful cooperation between the two institutions.”

The Former PMG & CEO Dr.Enock Kinara together with BBK CEO Mr.Jeremy Awori both carried successful Barclays bank transactions at Ngara road post office.

 

 

This partnership will make it easy for BBK customers to access their Bank Account Balance records and any enquiry related to their deposits without having to walk to their respective bank branches.   They will also be able to enjoy the following services:

In addition the Former PMG emphasized on PCK’s robust ICT infrastructure during the launch at Ngara Road post office, “This growing partnership demonstrates the Bank’s confidence in Posta Kenya’s capacity to meet their expectations in provision and delivery of efficient payment services to customers.”

This partnership with the Barclays Bank of Kenya, which is part of a large portfolio of Financial Institutions that Posta Kenya has partnered with both in the public and private sector, is a clear testimony of PCK’s relentless drive to be a one-stop-shop for modern and technology oriented products and services for a sustained business growth going forward.  This is also in recognition that Payment Services is one of the leading growth areas in the Postal Industry worldwide.   Electronic Payment Services has seen Postal services grow in great strides all over the world and Posta Kenya has not been left behind.

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great honor and privilege that I convey my New Year message to all Pasta Kenya staff as we embrace yet another great year, 2016, after bidding farewell to the successes and challenges of the 2015 calendar.

I am also deeply humbled that this is my maiden New Year message since my re­ appointment for the second term as the Postmaster General of the Postal Corporation of Kenya, in AuDr. Enock Kinara, Executive Office Postal Corporation of Kenya CEOgust 2015. I therefore wish to take this opportunity to express delight in serving the Corporation and being part of the dedicated PCK team for over three decades now. I proudly look at the history and growth of the organization since 1st July 1999 with excitement and satisfaction in view of the milestones achieved so far. It is no mean fete registering this phenomenal growth even in the face of challenges that at various points wore us down. Once again, I say thank you for the collective efforts.

Indeed, 2015 witnessed a myriad of challenges but I am happy that we have kept our eyes and spirits trained on the objective and dream that unite ite us towards the growth and success of Pasta Kenya and indeed I salute you for the stellar performance in 2015. However, I acknowledge that there is an onerous task ahead of us in order to fulfill the dream as enshrined in our Corporate Strategic Plan (2013/16). We must remind ourselves of the very core values that we promised to uphold; the values that are enshrined in our charter; the values that shall be the gateway to unlocking our full potential.

Posta Kenya Jumia Partnership

Kenya’s leading online mall, Jumia has partnered with Postal Corporation Of Kenya to allow its customers to pick up items they purchase on the website from Post offices across the country.

Postmaster General/Chief Executive OfficerDr.EnockKinara said, “We are happy to be part of this revolutionary shopping experience and assure all customers who come to pick Jumia shipments a quality service, they can also access other services that Posta Kenya offers.”.

Customers can select the option to pick-up products from a Post office closest to them during the checkout process, the product(s) will be dispatched to the selected office and customers can payfor the items via cash through Postapay orMpesa during pick up.

Parinaz Firozi Managing Director, Jumia Kenya said, “We are delighted that our customers can now pick up items they order on Jumia from selected Post offices across the country, this is a new direction in providing a stress-free, safe and convenient shopping experience.”

Jumia hopes to tap more customers through the partnership with Postal Corporation of Kenya by bringing the services closer to them through it vast network of Post offices countrywide. The move will also boost E-commerce uptake in the country which is growing by double digits. “
