Board Of Directors
Mr. Peter Kanaiya was appointed as the Chairman of the PCK Board effective Wednesday 13th July, 2022 for a period of three (3) years. Mr. Kanaiya, is an accomplished corporate executive with over fifteen years’ experience in ICT development and Data Management consultancy.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and ICT from the University of Duquesne, Pennsylvania, USA.
He has previously served as a Board Director of several State Corporations and companies, including the Betting Control and Licensing Board from 2015 to 2021.
Mr. Eric Kipkemei Bett is a Business man and was previously a Director at the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) from 2013 to 2019.
He has also served in the initial Board of the Postal Corporation of Kenya from 1999 – 2002 after the split from the Kenya Posts & Telecommunications Corporation.
Mr. Bett has also worked in the Office of the President, The Directorate of Personnel and Management (DPM) among other duties in the National Government for over two decades in various capacities.
Ms. Esther Ongoto Sagini is affiliated with the Ongoto & Co. Advocates and she is a small scale farmer in Molo and Naivasha. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Eastern Africa.
She is also qualified in Public Relations and Administration Management with expertise from Government Corporations over the years.
Mr. Alister D’ Souzawas appointed as the Director of the PCK Board effective Wednesday 6th October, 2021 for a period of three (3) years. He has 19 years of global experience in Shipping & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Rail and Government Advisory.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, both from the University of Nairobi.
Her long career in public service which exceeds 25 years in length, involves service as the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism. For at least 18 of those years, she has been involved in investment promotion, public enterprise reform and privatization. She is responsible for the divestiture of parastatal companies either through the selection of a “strategic investor”, or through the flotation of an IPO, on the Nairobi Stock Exchange.
Some of the privatized companies through this process, include Kenya Reinsurance Corporation, Tourism Promotion Services, Kenya Railways Corporation, Kenya Airways, Kenya Commercial Bank Group, Housing Finance Group of Kenya, Mumias Sugar Company Limited, Kenya Electricity Generating Company and Safaricom PLC.
Dr. Julius Muia is the Principal Secretary at The National Treasury and currently serves as a Director at the Postal Corporation of Kenya representing The National Treasury. Prior to this, Dr. Muia was the Principal Secretary at the State Department for Planning – The National Treasury and Planning. Before his appointment as PS Planning, he was the Director General, Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat, which operated under the Office of the President, Republic of Kenya, to facilitate the implementation of Vision 2030. This is Kenya’s long-term policy framework that is premised on making Kenya a globally competitive, rapidly industrializing and upper middle-income economy by 2030.
An alumnus of the University of Nairobi’s School of Business, Dr Julius Muia graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Accounting; Masters Degree and PhD in Finance from the same university. His professional qualifications include: Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K); Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K), Associate Kenya Institute of Bankers; Associate Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; and Certified Coach.
Dr. Muia has over 25 years’ experience in Leadership in the private sector in Kenya and UK. He started his career as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers in mid 1980s and later worked as Head of Finance and Company Secretary in the Hotel, Manufacturing and Banking sectors.
His other engagements include an adjunct faculty at Strathmore Business School; adviser on Strategy and trainer on Leadership. Dr. Julius Muia serves as a non-executive board member in several companies and a number of non-profit and charitable organizations in the region.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting option from Daystar University and an MBA in Finance from Kenya Methodist University.
She is also a qualified CPA (K) holder and a member of ICPAK. Ms. Elizabeth Shungula is currently the alternate Director, Postal Corporation of Kenya Board, representing the Principal Secretary, The National Treasury.
Mr. Macharia has previously worked as an Economist in various Ministries’ including Transport & Communications, Tourism, Information & Communications and The National Treasury among others since 1996. He has also attended various Management and Leadership Certification programmes both within and without the country for the last 15 years.
Mr. Dan Kagwe has worked extensively in the private sector including the Financial, Courier and Logistics industry in Kenya and the wider East Afrcian region for over thirty three years specifically holding senior Management level capacities at Fedex, Henkel Kenya and Diners Club International before joining Postal Corporation of Kenya in March 2013 as a General Manager in charge of Strategy & Business Development.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons) in Economics & Business Administration along with a Diploma in Marketing & Business Management. As an expert in Business process re-engineering, he has brought in a wealth of experience in Business Development to the Corporation . He is an associate member of the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), as an avid golfer, he served as the Chairman of Kampala Golf Club in Uganda among others.
Mr.Kagwe was first appointed as the Postmaster General in March 2017 and later re-appointed in March 2020 for the second three (3) year contract. His tenure is projected to steer several postal innovations which are already bridging the gap between the young and the old through consumption of Postal products and services.
